The Pioneer Football League is dedicated to college and career readiness. As an initiative taken on by ownership, the exposure to college life and the keys to achievement in the classroom is a top priority of league ownership. Thanks to Marta Latimer of the Bronx Colts and Shawn Godbolt of the Tri State Conference, the PFL made connections to Fordham University and Columbia University in 2015 and have cultivated that into an amazing opportunity for our children.
Fordham University – The Fordham Rams women’s basketball team and football team have invited PFL teams and the league as a whole to many events that have allowed our kids to walk the Rose Hill campus and dream of one day attending the prestigious University. Thank you to Fordham for their hospitality and support of the community and youth sports!
One of our family members suffered a tragic loss last week. One of our best general managers and all around great person Tasha Harris-Andrews lost her sister Amina Wilson to cancer. In her memory we are calling on every PFL team to support the cause to beat cancer. As it affects the lives of so many people we are having two of our programs (Bronx Buccs and Bronx Giants) taking part in “Football To Find A Cure”. They will be playing at Fordham University at their game against Yale with their Pink accessories supporting the fight against breast cancer.
October 15th at 1pm – Fordham University
Even better, all proceeds from ticket sales to this event through the Pioneer League will be donated to Cancer research in the memory of Ms. Wilson and in support of Miss Tasha and her family.
We are asking for everyone to buy $10 tickets to the game to watch the Giants and Buccs and enjoy college football on a great October afternoon.
If you cannot attend the game we will be taking donations or you may buy a ticket so that a deserving Buccaneer or Giant family member can come and support the event.
Or you can attend and donate as well!
Thank you for the support and please spread the word!
